While the internet seems to the center for global commerce, with
the ever increasing penetration of mobile phones and cellular services, a new wave
of mobile applications have helped converge mobile phones with the internet.
Traditional TV is also available in new digital Avatars such as DTH and IPTV. IPTV,
being a 2 way communication service opens up new possibilities allowing TV viewers
to interact with web applications over the internet. Existing and new web applications
can now be catered to this completely new audience, with new revenue models.
We at Aurus, have recently ventured into the mobile & IPTV space. In our first venture
with telecom giant Virgin Mobile, our mobile application made available Social networking
platforms such as Facebook, Orkut and Myspace on mobile phones independent of phone
capabilities / technology, all into a common unique interface.
